What is it?
Dynamic Webclient Platform (DWP) is the perfect implementation of a
thin-client development and deployment platform, accessing a
database over any type of network; even low bandwidth. DWP has
either a Progress Webclient or a .Net implementation on the client
side. On the server side everything is standard Progress.
DWP
has been
developed with just a single objective in mind: deliver standard
Windows applications with maximum performance over slow network
connections. Sub-second response times are achieved over dial-up and
mobile internet connections while still providing a
state-of-the art Windows user interface.
Using just standard Progress components it will run any Windows or
Unix platform (on the server side). The speed is achieved because
DWP is not only
thin-client, but also thin-server.
